Jude's Bench and Widowhood
When I lost my husband of 40 years, I decided to write a book about what it's like being a widow. I had so many unresolved issues and I needed to talk to him about them. I am a writer of fiction and of non-fiction. I wanted to write a memoir, but couldn't because the pain was too great. So, I decided to write a fictional account. I needed to be able to talk with my husband and in order to do that I had to bring him back. Thus, Jude's Bench was born, a true story within a fictional one.
